I know it has been a long time since an update was posted about our first child Rajni Yadav sponsored under eduCATe. However, you would find it heart warming to know that this little girl whom you can see in the video underneath singing a poem, has excelled well at her school.
Rajni's confidence levels have increased manifold. Now she never walks past without saying a polite 'Good Evening' or when she can't decide what to say around 4pm, then she would shyly greet with a 'Namaste', complete with a million dollar smile.
Rajni's attendance at the school has increased from 60% to over 80%. Her school grades have improved from being in the D band to hopefully A band this March. Like any other child of her age, she came running full of beans last week and declared, 'Didi, we are going on school trip tomorrow.' Ofcourse when I asked her where they were going, she ran away with hands up in the air, 'Don't know!'
Yesterday she walked over to me with a huge sheet rolled up in her tiny hands. Would you not like to see what she had made on that sheet?
Elder of the two sisters, it was a joy to feel the spring in Rajni's feet when she walked away with her five plants rolled up in that sheet.
